42nd Entry Telegs Association - Last Reunion 2025
TUESDAY MORNING – 29 APRIL 2025
OUR LAST TIME
TO ‘GET BEHIND THE WIRE’ AT RAF COSFORD!
10.30 hrs – 12.30 hrs approx
Squadron Leader Chris Wilson will lead a visit to RAF Cosford.
For our final visit Chris has offered to take us to the Engineering Training Hanger which contains many aircraft used in the training now. We will be able to see how they are trained on the various Aircraft.
Our tour will conclude with a photo of the group by a Red Arrow Hawk, which will later be put with a copy of our Graduation photograph.
Chris has hinted, he may also be able to shows us some hidden corners of the camp which we may not have seen before!!
The tour is expected to last approximately 2 hours, which will give us ample opportunity to see the aircraft etc and ask questions.
The Camp tour will be followed by buffet lunch
at the
RAF Museum at 13.00 hrs.
After a leisurely lunch we will attend a talk on the restoration the WELLINGTON Bomber.
The Conservation Manager or one of his team would lead this. It will be a roughly 30 minute talk next to the Wellington, which is on display as part of the Bomber Command exhibition.
The Second World War Vickers Wellington bomber has been restored to its former glory after more than a decade of conservation at the Royal Air Force Museum Midlands.
The Wellington, one of only two remaining, has moved from the Conservation Centre into the ‘War in the Air’ hanger and is the centre piece of a new Bomber Command exhibition which opened in May 2023.
It is also hoped that we will be able to visit the Conversation Centre not usually open to the public except on special occasions. It would be led by the Conservation Manager or one of his team and will be approximately a 1 hr tour and be an opportunity to see other restoration projects in progress.
Please note that the availability of this tour will depend on what is happening regarding the progress of the development project.
Afterwards there will be time to view the Museum at your leisure.
